Slide Clinic Event Crew

About Black Boarders Nation

Black Boarders Nation (BBN) is a registered nonprofit boarding community in the Philly-NYC corridor. We run weekly longboard ride-outs in Philadelphia, monthly snowboard sessions at Big SNOW, free community slide clinics, and a youth scholarship program opening doors to action sports for riders ages 12-21. We put Black riders front and center, and everybody's welcome on the street and the hill.

The role

You're the reason a kid can roll up on a borrowed board and leave the hill sliding. Our free slide clinics run twice a month — 1st and 3rd Sundays, October through December — at Black Road, and the event crew is what makes clinic day real: smooth, safe, and worth coming back to.

What you'll do

• Set up and break down cones, signage, and check-in

• Check riders in and hand out wristbands/waivers

• Spot corners, call out hazards, keep the hill safe

• Help beginners with slide basics

• Bring the energy — hype the crowd, welcome newcomers

Time commitment: About 4 hours per clinic (Sunday afternoons). Come to one or come to all — every hand helps.

Location: In person — Black Road, Philadelphia area.

What you bring: Comfortable on a longboard or skateboard, reliable, good with people. No teaching experience needed.

Good for: riders, students earning service hours.

How to apply: Email bbn@blackboardersnation.org with "Slide Clinic Crew" in the subject and a couple lines about you.
