Come join us and find out more about how you can become part of the best team in the area!

Volunteers are the heart of Community Healthcare of Texas. If you are looking for a special place to contribute your skills, talents, and abilities, we hope you consider one of the many available volunteer opportunities. We believe every person has something to give to support our patients and their families.

The time you give to share your talents with Community Healthcare of Texas will touch the lives of others in deeply meaningful ways.

These are just a few of the volunteer opportunities where you can make a difference:

    • Patient Companion volunteers visit with patients to offer friendship and companionship, give needed respite time for caregivers, run errands, or help with light household work.
    • Veteran-to-Veteran volunteers offer a supportive and understanding presence for fellow veterans receiving hospice care.
    • Interpreter volunteers facilitate communication between palliative care and hospice professionals and families through staff visits and/or phone calls.
    • Grief Support volunteers assist with plans for bereavement activities and events, including gatherings and memorial services, or offer support for families through phone calls and cards.
    • Legacy of Love volunteers take a patient’s favorite article of clothing, blanket, or other types of special fabric and design a customized stuffed bear or pillow that can be shared with the family for generations to come.
    • Office Support volunteers collaborate closely with our office team to assist with various administrative duties including filing and other organizational tasks.
    • Community Outreach volunteers are the face of Community Healthcare of Texas by helping at health fairs and conferences throughout the community.

People feel compelled to volunteer their time and talents for many reasons. Whatever your reason for volunteering with us, we want you to feel confident serving your community and the needs of our patients and families. Community Healthcare of Texas provides comprehensive training and support to prepare you to meet the unique needs of patients facing a life-limiting illness and their families. You will gain confidence and knowledge to make your service experience meaningful and rewarding. There is no cost for training, and sessions are offered throughout the year for your convenience.
