BE THE CHANGE - Become a Court Appointed Special Advocate!
Norfolk CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is recruiting volunteers for our next Pre-Service Training class. This engaging and informative 3-week training will be held on T/TH evenings from 6-8pm via Zoom, with 2 in-person Saturday sessions, and begins on June 9th, 2026!
Norfolk CASA volunteers advocate for Norfolk's abused and neglected children. We are the children's voice in court, and a support for them as they travel through the court and social service systems. As the 'eyes and ears of the judge,’ we investigate and report our findings to the court at each hearing.
Because of the vulnerable population of children we serve, there is a thorough application and interview process. We do not require certain education or work experience, but you must pass reference and background checks. After being trained and sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) you will be assigned a case and see your CASA child(ren) a minimum of once a month. On average, our CASA volunteers spend 10-15 hours each month advocating for their CASA kid.
If you are interested or have questions, please email volunteer@norfolkcasa.com or visit our website at www.norfolkcasa.com where you will find more information and links to the application.
