Connections For Humanity (CFH) is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the community for over 13 years with two primary missions: supporting veterans and military families, and providing food assistance to low-income families, seniors, and individuals.
We are seeking dedicated Volunteer Board Members to help guide and strengthen our organization during an important rebuilding and growth phase. This is a leadership and governance role, not a short-term or event-based volunteer position.
Responsibilities include:
• Attend regular board meetings (monthly or bi-monthly)
• Participate in at least one committee (fundraising, programs, outreach, or governance)
• Support fundraising and donor development efforts
• Provide professional skills, advice, and community connections
• Act as an ambassador for CFH in the community
• Support strategic planning and organizational decision-making
Qualifications:
• Strong commitment to helping veterans and addressing food insecurity
• Willingness to actively participate and follow through on commitments
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate respectfully
• Experience in business, nonprofit work, fundraising, finance, legal, marketing, or community outreach is helpful but not required
• Prior board experience is welcomed but not required
Time Commitment:
This is an ongoing volunteer leadership role. Board members are expected to attend meetings, participate in committee work, and support organizational activities throughout the year.
Why Join Our Board:
• Help strengthen a long-standing grassroots nonprofit
• Use your skills to make a real impact in the community
• Support veterans, families, seniors, and individuals in need
• Be part of shaping the future of Connections For Humanity
