Summary
Become an advocate for native plants by encouraging newly-planted trees and plants to
grow! Be a representative of Jeffco Parks & Open Space (JCPOS) by watering new plants until they become established in their new homes.
Duties
Water plants and/or trees within your designated plot
Remove invasive weeds in your plot
Monitor plant health and development
Requirements
Be able to hike various trails
Be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Complete required training and mentoring
Utilize a smart phone or tablet (tablets are available for checkout)
Volunteers must abide by JCPOS Park Regulations and established policies and procedures outlined in the JCPOS Volunteer Handbook.

- Submit a background check
- Attend New Volunteer Orientation
- All new volunteers are required to attend New Volunteer Orientation at JCPOS Headquarters to become familiar with the entire JCPOS system prior to specific program training. You must pre-register for orientation on Offero. Registration links are provided upon receipt of your application.
- Attend Program Specific Training
- Training will be arranged by the program coordinators.
- Training will be on April 2, 2026.
