Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer – Be a Voice for a Foster Child

Every child deserves a safe, permanent, and nurturing home—and you can help make that possible.

Tulsa CASA is seeking compassionate, dependable volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers are everyday people who step up to ensure a child’s voice is heard and their best interests are represented in court.

For many children, their CASA volunteer becomes the one consistent, caring adult throughout their case.

💙 What Does a CASA Volunteer Do?

As a CASA volunteer, you will:

    • Get to know the child and learn about their unique situation
    • Gather information from key people involved in the child’s life
    • Make independent recommendations to the court about what is in the child’s best interest
    • Monitor progress and ensure court orders and services are followed
    • Prepare and submit written court reports
    • Attend court hearings and advocate for the child’s needs

    ⏱ Time Commitment

    • 10–15 hours per month
    • 1-year commitment (children need consistency)
    • Flexible scheduling—many of our volunteers work full-time

    🎓 Training & Support

You don’t need prior experience—we’ll prepare and support you every step of the way:

    • Comprehensive pre-service training (30 hours)
    • Topics include the child welfare system, courts, communication, and advocacy
    • Ongoing support from a dedicated CASA supervisor
    • Continued learning through in-service training opportunities

    ✅ Qualifications

    • Must be 21 years or older
    • No felony convictions
    • No prior legal or child welfare experience required

    📍 Location

Volunteers serve children in the Tulsa County Judicial District

    🌟 Why Become a CASA?

Children in foster care often face uncertainty and constant change. As a CASA volunteer, you provide something incredibly powerful: consistency, advocacy, and hope.

Your voice can help a child find safety, stability, and a permanent home.
