Volunteer Opportunity: Help Us Get Ready for Our 15th Annual Gala!

Organization: Maya’s Hope

Location: New York City

Commitment: Flexible, a few hours at a time

Type: In-person volunteer opportunity

Maya’s Hope is getting ready for our 15th Annual Lotus Ball, and we could use some extra hands!

Our annual gala is our biggest fundraising event of the year, helping us raise critical funds for children with medical and special needs in the Philippines and Ukraine.

There is a LOT that happens behind the scenes to get hundreds of invitations and mailings out the door, and we’re looking for volunteers who would enjoy spending a few hours with us in our NYC office helping us prepare.

What you’ll help with:

• Folding letters and invitations
• Stuffing envelopes
• Handwriting addresses
• Adding stamps and labels
• Preparing gala mailings
• Writing short thank-you notes
• Other simple gala preparation projects as needed

No special experience is necessary. We’re simply looking for people who are reliable, detail-oriented, and happy to pitch in.

This is a great opportunity if you want to volunteer but don’t have time for a long-term commitment. Even a few hours can make a huge difference for our small team during our busiest time of year.

You’ll also get a little behind-the-scenes look at what goes into producing a major nonprofit fundraising event and learn more about the children whose lives these efforts help change.

Our 15th Annual Maya’s Hope Lotus Ball will take place on November 18, 2026, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

Come spend a few hours with us, help us get these mailings out the door, and be part of something that directly supports children who need us.

We would love to have you!
