Organization Mission and Background
Youth Enrichment Services (YES) offers Boston youth opportunities to experience the outdoors, develop confidence, and build leadership skills through year-round sports-based programs. The organization prioritizes serving low-and-moderate income youth with a focus on young people living in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Jamaica Plain. All youth at YES are Boston residents and we welcome all young people regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status. Acceptance into YES programs and sliding scale fees are based on need and determined by household income and residency in YES’s focus neighborhoods.
The YES mission comes alive through the commitment of a diverse group of volunteers. Volunteers are part of an important supportive community that takes part in training, orientations, and fun events. A background check is required of all volunteers working with youth. Email volunteer@yeskids.org for more information!
Volunteer Opportunity Details
YES’s Downhill Ski & Snowboarding Program track gives youth skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to try something new, or continue practicing their skills on the slopes. Join YES to teach, coach, and lead young people ages 7 through 13 in learning and practicing how to ski and snowboard. Get involved to maintain our Snowsports equipment and support our high school Leadership Corps in their development as changemakers. Please note that YES’s Operation Snowsports program and rental shop will be based out of our new headquarters at 267 Amory Street in Jamaica Plain.
YES is also accepting volunteers interested in supporting our Cross-Country skiing program on Monday and Thursday evenings (January - March) at the Weston Ski Track.
YES engages youth in programs all year! If you'd like to register as a volunteer in our track, biking, or other programming please feel free to fill out an application and staff will connect with you!
