WHAT IS VITA?

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is an IRS-supported initiative that provides free, reliable tax preparation assistance to eligible individuals and families, including people with low to moderate incomes, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with limited English proficiency.

Through VITA, trained and IRS-certified volunteers help taxpayers file their returns accurately, claim eligible tax credits, and keep more of their hard-earned money! We're recruiting passionate, community-minded volunteers to help provide FREE tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families.

📍 THREE VOLUNTEER LOCATIONS — MARYLAND

Site 1: Columbia, MD

• Monday & Wednesday
• 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Site 2: North Laurel, MD 20723

• Monday, Wednesday & Friday
• 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Site 3: Laurel, MD 20707

• Monday & Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

LIMITED REMOTE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE!

We are accepting a limited number of remote volunteers for eligible roles. Remote opportunities are subject to program needs, training, and certification requirements.

BILINGUAL & MULTILINGUAL VOLUNTEERS ENCOURAGED!

¿Hablas español? ¡Te necesitamos! We especially welcome Spanish-speaking and multilingual volunteers to help us serve Maryland's diverse communities.

No tax preparation experience? No problem! Whether you're an experienced tax professional, a college student, or someone who simply wants to give back, there's an opportunity to make a difference.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

Training and IRS certification guidance will be available for applicable roles.

📌 Volunteer Certification Deadline: January 22, 2027

All volunteers should complete the required certifications for their assigned roles by this date.
