Founding Civic Tech Builder: Leadership Indicators Platform (LIP)

Step Forward Global Initiative (SFGI) is looking for a remote volunteer or intern with platform-building expertise to develop a user-friendly, highly interactive civic tech comprised of country and candidate data, for a duration of two to three months. This person is organized and deliverable-oriented. The ability to create compelling visualizations is foundational.

SFGI mission:

Step Forward Global Initiative (SFGI) advances how women running for political office worldwide are perceived. Surfacing contextual, comparative leadership data at country and regional levels, SFGI’s Leadership Indicators Platform (LIP) gives you a global understanding of how who runs shapes who governs.

Volunteer:

Skills sought:

• Experience with data visualization or dashboard tools
• Comfort structuring datasets and designing simple schemas
• Ability to build clean, intuitive user interfaces
• Interest in civic tech, democracy, or leadership equity

Attractive skills:

• Experience with Airtable, Retool, Supabase, or similar
• Familiarity with APIs or scraping public datasets
