Volunteer Board Member — New York & North Carolina

Seeds to Flowers Inc. is seeking committed, mission-driven leaders to join our working Board of Directors as we strengthen our work in New York and prepare for responsible expansion into the Greensboro/Triad area of North Carolina. We are particularly seeking at least two North Carolina-connected Board members.

Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in Board meetings.
• Serve on at least one Board committee.
• Provide governance, strategic oversight, and organizational guidance.
• Serve as an ambassador for Seeds to Flowers in New York and/or North Carolina.
• Make introductions to potential donors, corporate sponsors, funders, and community partners.
• Participate in fundraising, donor cultivation, and at least one formal fundraising ask annually.
• Support the organization's long-term sustainability and responsible growth.

Qualifications

We welcome candidates who bring professional expertise, strong community relationships, or lived experience in areas such as:

• Corporate leadership and philanthropy
• Finance/accounting
• Legal and nonprofit governance
• Fundraising and grantmaking
• Marketing and communications
• Education, youth development, and mental health
• Government and civic leadership
• Family and community advocacy
• Greensboro/Triad business and community leadership

Previous Board experience is welcome but not required. Candidates should have a genuine commitment to supporting girls impacted by trauma and be prepared to actively contribute their time, expertise, relationships, and leadership.

Other Details

This is a volunteer Board position for candidates located in or connected to New York and/or North Carolina, with a current priority for leaders connected to the Greensboro/Triad region.

Board members are expected to make a personally meaningful annual contribution and actively support fundraising efforts. Seeds to Flowers currently maintains an annual give/get expectation of $2,500–$5,000, with flexibility based on individual circumstances. Give/get participation may include personal giving, fundraising, sponsorships, donor introductions, and other efforts that generate financial support for the organization.
