    Strategic Marketing Lead (Volunteer)

    Borrow’d is building a neighborhood-based sharing platform designed to make it easier for people to access what they need without buying more stuff. Our mission is to strengthen communities, reduce waste, and normalize collective use over individual owners.

    We are an open-source, non-profit platform moving from "early build" to a live community launch. We’re looking for a Strategic Marketing Lead to architect and execute our 3-month Go-To-Market (GTM) plan, bridging the gap between a great product and a thriving movement.

    The Commitment

    • Duration: 3-month initial commitment (the launch window).
    • Hours: ~5 hours/week (Fully Remote/Async).
    • Collaboration: Weekly sync with Leadership/Product to align on shipping milestones.

    What you’ll own

    • GTM Strategy: Design a 90-day roadmap to take Borrow’d to our public launch - you’ll help us define our "launch” and what success looks like.
    • Narrative & Positioning: Refine the Borrow’d voice. How do we talk to "Borrowers" vs. "Lenders"? How do we articulate "Community Resilience" in a way that sticks?
    • Resource Coordination: You aren’t a solo flyer. You will coordinate with individual contributors (copywriters, designers, or social volunteers) and identify what new resources we need to recruit to hit our goals.

    Decision Boundaries

    • Strategic: You define how we tell our story and where we show up.
    • Operational: You manage the marketing calendar and the volunteers helping to fill it.
    • Collaborative: You work with the Product Manager to ensure our marketing promises match what the devs are actually shipping.

    Who you are

    • You understand the "Early Stage" hustle: you’d rather build a strategy from a blank page than follow a corporate manual.
    • You are data-informed but mission-led.
    • Experience in community-driven growth, open-source, or sustainability is a huge plus.
