At Kinship Community Food Center, feeding hunger is a catalyst for the well-being of our community. Everyone Gives. Everyone Receives.
There’s a wonderful transformation that happens in our hearts when we’re called out of our isolation and into community.
Here, when any member of our community discovers the gift, they are meant to give and the gift they are meant to receive, it can surprise, heal, and bring new life and purpose. This is true whether you’re a volunteer, shopper, or a donor. By helping one another amidst the diversity of our backgrounds, our needs and hardships, our blessings and privileges... we grow in gratitude, the wellspring of true generosity.
As a Food Distribution Volunteer, you will help us distribute beautiful food and get to know your neighbors! We recognize the immeasurable dignity of each person who comes to our food center. How we distribute food and how we interact with one another is centered on recognizing the gifts we have.
All training and orientation happen at the start of your first volunteer shift and every department has a volunteer team lead that communicates all roles and responsibilities.
This is an in-person role averaging 3-6 hours per week.
Requested length of service: At least 3 hours is required to volunteer at the Food Center on distribution days but only 2 are necessary for food sorting on Fridays. Many volunteers will commit to multiple volunteer slots a week which is closer to 6 hours per week.
