About the African American Diabetes Association (AADA):
The African American Diabetes Association (AADA) is a national non-profit confronting diabetes disparities in Black communities. We provide culturally relevant education, resources, and advocacy to improve health outcomes and promote health equity. We are building our fundraising capacity to expand our vital programs.
Position Title: Grant Strategy Volunteer
Commitment: Unpaid Volunteer Position
Location: Virtual (US Residency Required)
Position Overview:
AADA seeks a results-oriented Grant Strategy Volunteer to significantly impact our funding efforts. This role is perfect for a skilled individual passionate about securing resources to fuel our mission. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities and crafting compelling narratives to support our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify high-impact grant opportunities from diverse funding sources.
- Develop and draft persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding requests.
- Collaborate with leadership to gather essential program information and data.
- Help manage a grants calendar to track deadlines and reporting.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of AADA's grant seeking efforts.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and research skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively independently and remotely.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn grant writing best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
