What This Role Is About
This green space grows because people show up and share what they know. The Garden Lead helps keep our planting on track and our community informed. This role oversees the planting schedule and supports other volunteers by teaching them how to care for the plants, promoting a space that is healthy, thriving, and rooted in shared responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the planting schedule throughout the season
- Support planting days and routine garden care
- Show other volunteers how to properly plant, water, weed, and maintain the space
- Help troubleshoot basic plant health issues
- Share best practices so everyone feels confident caring for the garden
- Flag larger issues or needs to staff or project leads
Time Commitment
- Seasonal role with flexible hours
- More hands-on time during planting and peak growing months
- Weekly or bi-weekly check-ins as needed
