Manna Ministries, Inc. offers a Master's Level volunteer opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful community-based service experience in nonprofit administration, community development, program planning, community outreach, grant support, resident engagement, youth and family programming, and neighborhood revitalization.
This opportunity is appropriate for Master's Degree students, graduate-level learners, recent graduates, or individuals with graduate-level interest in human services, social work, public administration, nonprofit management, community development, psychology, education, public health, sociology, or related fields.
Volunteer assignments may include program planning, community needs assessment, outreach activities, meeting preparation, workshop development, data collection, grant research, volunteer coordination, resident engagement, program documentation, evaluation tools, and community-based project support. Assignments may be adjusted based on the volunteer's skills, interests, availability, service-learning requirements, and Manna Ministries, Inc.'s organizational needs.
The volunteer may also support neighborhood-based activities connected to food insecurity, youth and family engagement, neighborhood safety, civic engagement, community cleanup, resident concerns, and collaborative partnerships.
Responsibilities may include
- Support nonprofit program planning and implementation.
- Assist with community outreach and resident engagement activities.
- Help prepare program materials, forms, reports, surveys, and meeting documents.
- Conduct grant and funding research under supervision.
- Support volunteer coordination and community event planning.
- Assist with youth, family, and neighborhood-based programs.
- Help collect and organize program data for evaluation and reporting.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, community forums, or special events as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Complete agreed-upon volunteer tasks within the approved schedule.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree student, graduate-level learner, recent graduate, or individual with related academic or professional interest.
- Interest in nonprofit service, community development, human services, public administration, social services, education, public health, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with residents, volunteers, community partners, and organizational leadership.
- Dependability, confidentiality, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and document work completed.
- Basic computer, research, writing, and organizational skills preferred.
