Introduction

LGBT Voice Tanzania is seeking a dedicated and skilled volunteer editor to help us finalize a critical report for publication. As an organization committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ people in Tanzania, our reports are vital tools for raising awareness and driving change. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to use your editing expertise to make a tangible impact on our work and help ensure our message is delivered with maximum clarity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

The Volunteer Editor will work closely with our team to review and edit the report. Key responsibilities include:

• Editing and Proofreading: Carefully review the report for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and typographical errors.
• Clarity and Flow: Refine the text to improve sentence structure, enhance readability, and ensure a clear and consistent flow throughout the document.
• Consistency: Check for consistency in language, style, and tone, making sure the report adheres to a professional standard.
• Final Review: Perform a final proofread before the report is sent for design and publication.

Qualifications

We are looking for a volunteer who possesses the following qualifications:

• Exceptional English Language Skills: A strong command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
• Editing Experience: Proven experience in editing or writing, with a keen eye for detail.
• Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
• Alignment with Mission: A passion for human rights and a commitment to the mission of LGBT Voice Tanzania.
• Familiarity with Human Rights: Prior knowledge of or interest in human rights and LGBTQ+ issues is an asset, but not required.
