The Step Up Program is a founder-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women, children, and families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and crisis. For more than five years, we have provided direct assistance, resources, and community support to over 5,000 families.
We are currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors in the following volunteer leadership roles:
- Treasurer
- Executive Fundraising Officer
Board members play a vital role in helping guide the organization's growth, sustainability, and community impact.
Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly board meetings (virtual participation available)
- Support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the organization
- Provide governance, oversight, and professional expertise
- Participate in fundraising, outreach, and community engagement efforts
- Serve as an ambassador for The Step Up Program within the community
- Uphold confidentiality and fiduciary responsibilities
Treasurer Responsibilities:
- Provide financial oversight and accountability
- Review budgets and financial reports
- Assist with financial planning and compliance
- Report financial status to the Board
Executive Fundraising Officer Responsibilities:
- Help develop and implement fundraising strategies
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Assist with fundraising campaigns, events, and grant opportunities
- Report fundraising activities and outcomes to the Board
Qualifications:
- Passion for serving women, children, and families in need
- Leadership, nonprofit, financial, fundraising, business, or community engagement experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a mission-driven team
- Commitment to attending board meetings and supporting organizational growth
