Do you have a licensed therapy dog who loves people and brings joy wherever they go? We’re looking for caring volunteers and their certified therapy dogs to brighten the days of hospice patients through companionship and gentle interaction.
Our patients often light up at the sight of a furry friend. Your visits can bring warmth, smiles, and comfort-sometimes even when words are hard to find.
What You’ll Do:
- Visit patients in private homes, nursing facilities, or assisted living centers
- Offer gentle pet therapy through short visits with your certified dog
- Bring joy, reduce anxiety, and provide emotional support
- Work closely with our hospice team to ensure safe, meaningful interactions
What We’re Looking For:
- A calm, friendly, and licensed therapy dog (must be certified by a recognized organization)
- A handler/volunteer who is compassionate, reliable, and comfortable in quiet settings
- A heart for bringing comfort to those at the end of life
- Willingness to complete hospice volunteer training (we’ll provide it!)
Schedule:
Flexible-you decide what fits your life. Even one visit a week makes a lasting impact.
Why Volunteer With Us?
