Volunteer Tax Preparation

Join SNVTA and make a difference in your community by helping others receive larger tax refunds!

VITA/TCE sites are a fun, easy way to learn to prepare income taxes while giving back to your community. VITA/TCE sites are led by local volunteers and focus on supporting your neighbors with a free personalized tax assistance experience that is enriching and fulfilling not only for them but for you.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to get involved. All you need to bring is your good vibes. We will provide the training you need to fulfill one of these roles.

• Are you a people person? Be a client facilitator. You will greet taxpayers, help organize their paperwork and manage the overall flow of service.
• Are you an organized leader? Be a site coordinator who can make sure everything runs smoothly, track volunteer assignments and site activities, and maintain quality control.
• Are you interested in training others? We need instructors who can help train our volunteers.
• Do you do your own taxes - or wish you could? Become a tax preparer and we will train you to prepare taxes.
• Are you a geek? Be a technology coordinator. You will manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data is secured and provide technical assistance to volunteers at multiple sites.
• Do you love marketing? Be a communications coordinator. You will promote SNVTA services and recruit volunteers in your community.
• Do you speak a second language? We need you. We have a big demand for bilingual speakers in all roles.
• Do you know sign language? We also have a need for dedicated volunteers who know ASL.
