Copywriter
We are seeking a creative and meticulous Volunteer Copywriter to join our organization. This position offers the opportunity to strategically support our mission by producing high-quality written material that engages a broad audience, communicates our objectives, and encourages active participation. Your work will help motivate donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders to engage with and support our initiatives.
Content Creation:
- Develop persuasive copy for websites, newsletters, social media, fundraising campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Construct impactful narratives illustrating organizational achievements, success stories, and testimonials.
- Partner with marketing and communications departments to ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
Fundraising Materials:
- Prepare donation appeals, grant proposals, and sponsorship requests.
- Clearly articulate the purpose and scope of programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Highlight the importance and urgency of financial contributions.
Newsletters and Updates:
- Draft informative newsletters to keep supporters updated.
- Communicate progress on events, milestones, and forthcoming activities.
- Encourage stakeholder involvement and advocacy for our cause.
Website Content:
- Author and update website content including mission statements, organizational profiles, and program descriptions.
- Optimize copy for SEO to improve online visibility.
Event Promotion:
- Create event announcements, invitations, and other promotional collateral.
- Compose event descriptions designed to maximize attendance and engagement.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, and video producers to enhance content quality.
- Engage in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to develop innovative ideas.
Editing and Proofreading:
- Review and refine content for accuracy, clarity, and uniformity.
- Ensure adherence to grammatical standards and appropriate punctuation.
Adherence to Brand Voice:
- Maintain consistency with the organization’s brand voice and messaging guidelines.
- Tailor writing style to suit various platforms and target audiences.
Qualifications:
- Superior writing skills and strong attention to detail.
- Creative capability in presenting complex concepts in an accessible fashion.
- Familiarity with nonprofit operations and social impact.
- Advanced proficiency in grammar, style, and tone.
- Demonstrated passion for the organization’s mission and dedication to meaningful change.
Time Commitment: Volunteer copywriters typically devote several hours per week, with schedules that accommodate individual availability. We are asking for a 4 hour per week commitment for this position.
