Hours Needed
Wednesday 10:30am-2:30pm; Friday 10:30am-2:30pm; Saturday 2:00pm-6:00pm
General Duties
- Participate in building strong and trusting relationships with clients;
- Approach clients, volunteers and staff with a friendly, non-judgmental attitude;
- Remain flexible in a team-based, fast-paced, ever-changing environment;
- Pay attention to detail and complete tasks thoroughly; and
- Show compassion and kindness towards our clients who come from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Assist with animal restraint, vaccinations, minor medical treatment and other pet- focused wellness tasks
- Complete paperwork
- Explain services and pricing to clients
- Experience working as a vet tech or vet assistant at a vet clinic or animal shelter, or currently enrolled in a vet assistant or tech program required; RVTs will lab experience also welcome
- Experience working or volunteering at a shelter or outreach event is helpful
- Use of positive-reinforcement techniques
- Use of safe handling and fear free handling techniques
