Virtual Bereavement Volunteer

AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to support our Bereavement Team by making caring follow-up phone calls to families who have recently lost a loved one. Volunteers use a simple script, offer supportive listening, and connect families with resources as needed. No counseling is required. Just kindness, reliability, and a warm phone presence.

Responsibilities:

• • Make supportive check-in calls to bereaved families
  • Follow a brief script/checklist
  • Document call outcomes (training provided)
  • Maintain confidentiality and boundaries

We’re Looking For:

Empathetic, patient, and reliable volunteers who are comfortable speaking with individuals experiencing grief and can commit to a consistent weekly or biweekly schedule.

Training Provided:

Virtual training on communication, bereavement basics, documentation, and hospice philosophy.
