Event MC/Auction Host for Tanzania Teaching Foundation Summer Garden Party

About the Event

The Tanzania Teaching Foundation (TTF) is seeking an energetic, engaging, and community-minded volunteer to serve as the MC / Auction Host for our annual Summer Garden Party fundraiser in Olympia.

This event brings together supporters, educators, travelers, and community members for an afternoon of wine tasting, food, storytelling, music, and fundraising to support educational programs for students in Tanzania.

We are looking for someone who can help create warmth, excitement, and momentum during the program and live fundraising portion of the event.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the event MC during the presentation and fundraising program
• Introduce speakers and help maintain event flow
• Lead a short live auction
• Encourage audience participation and donations in an upbeat, authentic way
• Help create a fun and welcoming atmosphere
• Keep energy high while supporting TTF’s mission and community spirit

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable speaking in front of groups
• Warm, personable, and enthusiastic
• Able to improvise and engage a crowd
• Passionate about community causes, education, or nonprofit work
• Experienced in hosting, fundraising, theater, teaching, auctions, emceeing, or public speaking (helpful but not required)

Event Details

• Event attendance: approximately 120–150 guests
• Casual, joyful, community-focused atmosphere
• Training/materials provided in advance
• You’ll work closely with the TTF leadership team
