    About the Role

    Reporting to the Director of Buildings & Grounds, the Building Manager is a vital, in-person role that ensures the smooth administrative operation of our facilities. This position supports the Director by coordinating facility schedules, maintaining inventory records, acting as a primary point of contact for in-person vendors/visitors, and ensuring administrative compliance with safety and operational protocols.

    What You’ll Do

    Key Responsibilities

    • Facility Coordination: Manage in-person access and schedules for facility usage, ensuring all activities align with operational goals.
    • Administrative Oversight: Maintain organized records for facility maintenance, supplies inventory, and vendor communications.
    • Safety & Compliance: Assist the Director in ensuring all site operations adhere to safety protocols, including documenting safety inspections and facility hazards.
    • Communication Liaison: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for staff, volunteers, and visiting vendors, providing professional and proactive support.
    • Operational Support: Help streamline day-to-day administrative tasks, such as tracking project timelines, filing reports, and assisting with facility budget tracking.

    What You Bring

    • Education: High school diploma or GED required; administrative or office management experience preferred.
    • Experience: Previous experience in office administration, facility management, or volunteer coordination.
    • Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and strong organizational skills.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to handle interactions with tact and diplomacy.
    • Attributes: Adaptable, collaborative, and self-motivated with a strong commitment to R.O.Y.O.’s mission.

    Typical Work Environment

    • This role is based in person at our Chicago location, requiring regular on-site presence.
    • Works in an office and facility setting with occasional travel within the local area as needed.
