    Descripción

    Volunteer Board Treasurer – Indigenous Roots Productions (IRP)

    The Treasurer is a voting member of the Board responsible for IRP’s financial oversight and compliance. This is a working volunteer role requiring consistent engagement.

    Core Responsibilities (Monthly–Quarterly Duties)

    • Maintain and update IRP’s financial records, including income tracking and expense logs
    • Prepare quarterly financial reports for board meetings
    • Support the annual budget, financial review, and reporting requirements
    • Assist with identifying funding opportunities and preparing basic financial documentation for grants
    • Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and ethical financial practices

    Time Commitment

    • 3–5 hours per month, including one quarterly board meeting
    • Additional coordination during budgeting or grant cycles

    Qualifications

    • Experience with budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial management preferred
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Commitment to IRP’s mission and values of Indigenous sovereignty, ethical research, and community-centered storytelling

    Impact

    This role ensures IRP’s transparency, compliance, and long-term sustainability as the organization grows across multiple regions and projects.
