Volunteer Board Treasurer – Indigenous Roots Productions (IRP)
The Treasurer is a voting member of the Board responsible for IRP’s financial oversight and compliance. This is a working volunteer role requiring consistent engagement.
Core Responsibilities (Monthly–Quarterly Duties)
- Maintain and update IRP’s financial records, including income tracking and expense logs
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for board meetings
- Support the annual budget, financial review, and reporting requirements
- Assist with identifying funding opportunities and preparing basic financial documentation for grants
- Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and ethical financial practices
Time Commitment
- 3–5 hours per month, including one quarterly board meeting
- Additional coordination during budgeting or grant cycles
Qualifications
- Experience with budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial management preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to IRP’s mission and values of Indigenous sovereignty, ethical research, and community-centered storytelling
