The Black Parent Group

The Black Parent Group is a non-profit organization that has the following goals:

• Provide culturally specific workshops to help parents and guardians
• Connect families to local resources
• Provide a safe place for parents to gain support
• Address the underlying issues of the achievement gap
• Help prevent violence in the community
• Increase parental involvement
• Provide basic needs to families
• Provide mentoring to families
• Encourage community involvement and volunteerism
• Assist in building an African American marketplace and center of hope
• Provide opportunities for children to participate in artistic expression
