The Black Parent Group is a non-profit organizationthat has the following goals:
Provide culturally specific workshops to help parents and guardians
Connect families to local resources
Provide a safe place for parents to gain support
Address the underlying issues of the achievement gap
Help prevent violence in the community
Increase parental involvement
Provide basic needs to families
Provide mentoring to families
Encourage community involvement and volunteerism
Assist in building an African American marketplace and center of hope
Provide opportunities for children to participate in artistic expression
