The Black Parent Group is a non-profit organization that has the following goals:
- Provide culturally specific workshops to help parents and guardians
- Connect families to local resources
- Provide a safe place for parents to gain support
- Address the underlying issues of the achievement gap
- Help prevent violence in the community
- Increase parental involvement
- Provide basic needs to families
- Provide mentoring to families
- Encourage community involvement and volunteerism
- Assist in building an African American marketplace and center of hope
- Provide opportunities for children to participate in artistic expression
