Through a comprehensive approach that includes research, education, advocacy, and support, AFSP works to create a culture that is informed about mental health and empowered to prevent suicide. Our organization funds critical scientific research to better understand suicide and develop effective prevention strategies, provides evidence-based educational programs for schools, workplaces, and communities, and advocates for public policies that improve access to mental health care and strengthen crisis response systems.
