Arturo Healing Hearts Though Music

Arturo Healing Hearts is a youth-led nonprofit founded in 2025 by 15-year-old violinist Ava Silva Costa to bring comfort and connection through live music in New Jersey hospitals. What began with one student violinist performing for a few patients has grown into a compassionate movement of young musicians transforming hospital rooms into spaces of peace and humanity.

Every week, student volunteers from across New Jersey perform short, quiet sets in oncology, pediatric, and rehabilitation units, offering moments of calm and joy for patients, families, and healthcare workers. Our mission is simple but profound — to remind people that music and humanity are inseparable.

We believe that art heals — not just those who listen, but those who give. By combining artistry with service, our volunteers learn empathy, resilience, and leadership through every note they play.

Arturo Healing Hearts partners with hospitals, schools, and community organizations to make service through the arts accessible to all. We provide verified community-service hours, mentorship, and a safe, supervised environment where young people can discover the power of their own compassion.
