    Summary

    As Vice President of Growth & Development at JCA, you shape how nonprofits see us and how new clients find us. You are part of a collaborative Leadership Team, guiding the strategies that define our brand and drive client acquisition. You bring clarity and creativity to our sales and marketing efforts across all lines of business, ensuring that our reputation as ingenious, trusted partners continues to grow. Your leadership helps us reach the organizations that need us most and ensures we meet our revenue goals.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership, Management, and Accountability

    • Promote a culture in which our core values drive every decision we make and every action we take.
    • Work with all leadership team members to set long-term aspirational goals for the company. Using the company’s Vision/Traction Organizer (VTO) as guides, forge a path that fosters excellence, profitability and growth while performing unparalleled, leading-edge work with high performing clients.
    • Work with all leadership team members to develop and maintain a strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives on the path to its envisioned future. Devise and implement programs and initiatives to support the strategic plan. Maximize the return on all available resources.
    • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Client Development Specialist, and Program Managers, managing their performance and ensuring their professional and skills development.

    Sales Performance

    • Collaborate with the President & COO to set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets.
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed established revenue targets.
    • Monitor and analyze sales metrics to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to create and execute effective sales campaigns.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships at key client accounts to monitor satisfaction, identify potential future opportunities and cultivate referrals.
    • Engage prospects and clients to sell them on opportunities with JCA that are strategic to the company’s long-term goals and sustainability.
    • Work closely with colleagues to generate and close opportunities.
    • Network and develop relationships with prospects and partners.

    Sales Process Optimization

    • Manage JCA’s sales processes, to include uncovering prospect issues, concerns and vision (ICV), budget, timeline, decision makers, and roadblocks.
    • Continuously assess and refine sales processes to enhance performance and productivity.
    • Have responsibility for functions managed by the Client Development Specialist, including the management of sales methodology and process, and moves management metrics for individuals and groups.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns that align with brand messaging and corporate goals.
    • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels, including digital, social media, and conferences.
    • Oversee JCA’s brand, including training staff, monitoring usage, addressing inconsistencies, and keeping it relevant—all with the goal of maintaining a strong and recognizable identity in the marketplace.
    • Manage public relations efforts and cultivate relationships to enhance brand visibility.
    • Oversee the management of our client “personas,” which represent our ideal customers by delving into their psychology, including their goals, challenges, and how they prefer to receive information.
    • Work with the President & COO, Vice President of Professional Services, and Program Manager(s) to develop and align lead generation, marketing, messaging, and sales plans for each of the four pillars JCA serves.
    • Have responsibility for functions managed by the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, including content and digital marketing, graphic design, brand management, and conference and event coordination.
    • Promote the company through written articles, personal appearances and presentations at conferences and online postings. Network with other senior executives within JCA’s industry or related industries.

    Market Research & Analysis

    • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
    • Analyze market data to inform strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
    • Provide actionable insights to guide product development, marketing strategies, and sales efforts.

    Skills

    You are successful as the Vice President of Growth & Development because you:

    • are a strong, experienced strategic leader who can develop a highly effective team;
    • interpret user data and market research to inform decisions;
    • understand B2B professional services and have successfully positioned complex offerings in competitive markets;
    • have a deep understanding of nonprofits;
    • are excellent at building relationships with clients, partners, and co-workers;
    • are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal;
    • are an excellent presenter;
    • direct peers;
    • voice your thoughts and perspectives, even when your viewpoint is unique; and
    • communicate effectively with executives and decision makers at prospects and client organizations to understand challenges and identify solutions.

    Qualifications

    You are qualified for the position because you:

    • have a minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, business development, or sales leadership, with a demonstrated ability to drive client acquisition and revenue growth;
    • have a minimum of five years’ experience working at nonprofit organizations, especially those in arts, culture, higher education, or healthcare; and
    • have a minimum of three years’ experience in an executive leadership role.

    You have an advantage in the position if you:

    • have experience in one or more fundraising or ticketing systems;
    • have a minimum of five years’ experience utilizing data-based insights to develop business strategies; and
    • are based in the Chicagoland area.

    Requirements

    You may be required to:

    • work remotely from a home office or other remote space;
    • work 40 hours per week, as this is a full-time position;
    • travel at least six times per year; and
    • remain in a stationary position for the majority of an eight-hour workday.
