Summary: The Client HR Services Manager is responsible for providing human resource services to multiple small nonprofits and for-profits in the Washington D.C. metro area, but must have experience with CA and multi-state experience. The position may require at least 10 hours per month with the option for additional hours. The position is virtual and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Essential Functions
Partners with the COO to assist with human resource needs for small nonprofits and for-profit clients
Update clients on compliance issues related to laws and regulations (federal, state, and local)
Generate ideas for HR related blogs and social media content to provide to our marketing manager
Manage talent acquisition when needed, including recruitment, interviewing (writing possible interview questions), and hiring job applicants
Conduct salary surveys and review findings with clients
Manage employee benefits and assist with open enrollment
Assist clients with employee relations, including, but not limited to performance issues, performance improvement plans (PiP), sensitive questions and issues that may arise
Audit the current processes and procedures of each organization and make recommendations accordingly
Other projects as assigned
Preferred Education and Experience
At least five (5) years of human resources experience
Must have a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification and maintain continuing education
Experience working with clients / employees in multiple states, including CA and NY
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
Breadth of HR knowledge required
Nonprofit experience a plus
Experience using Google Suite and Dropbox preferred
Highly organized and detail oriented required as the position requires servicing multiple organizations simultaneously
Willingness to learn and pitch in at all levels
