    Operations Manager

Put your organizational talent to work for the greater good as an Operations Manager for behavior change initiatives at Marketing for Change, a national research and creative firm propelled by behavioral science and dedicated to social change.

We’re seeking a workflow manager who thrives on momentum and making things happen – someone who sees the big picture and clears the path for creative production to become real-world impact.

As our new Operations Manager, you’ll choreograph the daily rhythm of our work – from initial production planning to final project delivery. You’ll guide our internal workflows across teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and seamless coordination every step of the way. With an eye for efficiency and a heart for mission-driven work, you’ll adjust timelines, manage capacity, recruit and onboard vendors, eliminate roadblocks, and help keep our collaboration tools (like Asana and Slack) up to date with key information.

    Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with experience, with an expected range between $65,000 - $75,000 per year.

    About Marketing for Change

We are a research and creative agency that leverages the power of social psychology, neuroscience and behavioral economics to understand, influence and evaluate the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that advance social causes. Founded in 2005, Marketing for Change helps foundations, nonprofits, governments and companies “do good better.” Our 25-plus team includes copywriters, filmmakers, designers, researchers, developers and strategists — not to mention musicians, artists, podcasters, kayakers, and mountaineers. Because that part of life is just as important as work.

This position will be located in one of our work hubs in Alexandria, VA, or Orlando, FL. We are mostly a hybrid workforce with staff working together in-person at least one day a week because we value the fun and collaboration that allows.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Operations experience in an agency setting. You have at least 4-5 years of operations experience working in an advertising (preferable), marketing or creative agency. You have managed interdepartmental processes to produce campaign deliverables and production timelines. You have experience with finding, negotiating and managing logistics with production vendors.
    • Curiosity and adaptability. You have a problem-solving aptitude and apply systems thinking approaches. You have a knack for spotting inefficiencies and adjusting processes to make workflows and collaboration smoother. You seek and are receptive to developmental feedback, and promote a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
    • Demonstrated ability with budget tracking and resource allocation. You monitor budgets to ensure project tasks are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Organized and detail-oriented. You’re able to manage operations across multiple campaigns, timelines, and tasks, helping our team meet daily deadlines. You can adapt to shifting priorities, and collaborate with senior management to help prioritize as needed.
    • Comfort working in ambiguity. You don’t wait for direction, you look ahead, spot opportunities, and take initiative. You are comfortable learning and adopting new tech platforms.
    • Excellent communication skills. You can liaise across teams and build trust with creatives, accountants and leadership, with verbal and written clarity. You’re also comfortable connecting with clients directly to discuss operations details, as needed.
    • Collaborative and empathetic to peers. You are committed to providing timely, developmental feedback that helps our team meet project goals and deliver great client experiences.

    Nice to haves:

    • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff. You have experience developing and assigning tasks for more junior staff. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and helping others grow.
    • Experience with video production logistics. You have experience with planning pre-production, identifying and hiring crew and talent, coordinating shoot-day logistics and managing post-production timelines.
    • Passion for social impact work. You care about the mission and want your work to make a real difference.

    Some of the perks:

    • We care about each other. We check in. We advocate and cover for each other. We cheer each other on. And we like to hang out.
    • We offer a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, sick and holiday leave, 401(k) matching contributions, and paid parental leave. We offer a range of health plans including PPO and HSA healthcare, as well as dental, disability and life insurance.
    • We are a deliberately developmental workplace. That means we will help you develop and pursue professional goals that match your life goals and purpose.
    • We prioritize balance and flexibility. We are at our desks most days for 8 hours, not 10. We are open to schedule adjustments and flexible schedules.
    • We are a flat organization. Everyone’s ideas are valued. Anyone can spearhead a new company initiative or make change.
    • We care about social change. We show up each day as part of a fun and friendly work culture to do inspiring work that makes the world a better place.
