Founded in 1973 by Beulah Providence and a group of Caribbean immigrant women, The Caribbean Foundation of Boston (CFOB) has served the Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan communities for over 50 years. Established with a “neighbor helping neighbor” philosophy, CFOB has grown from a small grassroots effort into a trusted community resource, providing compassionate care, workforce development, and vital support services to hundreds of local residents each month.
CFOB’s purpose is to prevent unnecessary institutionalization of seniors and individuals with disabilities by helping them remain in their homes with dignity and independence. The organization also provides meaningful employment opportunities and workforce training for community members.
Impact & Programs
CFOB has a staff of nine, employs more than 130 homemakers, and has an annual operating budget of approximately $2.5 million. CFOB is overseen by a small Board of Directors comprised of community and business leaders. CFOB’s long-serving Director of Finance will retire from his role upon the hire of the CFO.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with a starting salary range of $90,000 to $115,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. CFOB also offers a benefits package that includes health insurance (70% paid by the employer and 30% by the employee via payroll deduction), 3 weeks paid vacation, 7 sick days, 8 paid holidays, and a 401K plan. Over time, limited hybrid options may be accommodated.
