New Orleans Greek Picnic

Acerca de

The mission of the New Orleans Greek Picnic is to foster and promote voluntarism, service and unity among members of the African-American Greek community.

Fraternities and sororities are a big part of our communities and the 2012 New Orleans Greek picnic was attended by more than 5,000 members of the African-American Greek community representing more than 30 states across the nation. Last year’s festivities featured a host of events ranging from our Welcome Party at Voodoo to a private showing of the film Sparkle to the Greek Picnic itself, held at Historic Armstrong Park in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Sponsors for the events included Crescent City Tutors, Monster, TriStar Pictures, Circle K Food Store, among others. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the 2012 NOLA Greek Picnic went to benefit the 44th Educational Initiative, a non-profit organization which provides arts and culture education related to the Mardi Gras Indian culture.
