Sonoran AI Consulting

Sonoran AI Consulting is a women-run consulting practice based in Tucson, Arizona, helping local nonprofits and small businesses approach AI with clarity, care, and confidence. We were founded on the belief that artificial intelligence should serve the communities organizations already serve - not replace human judgment, displace workers, or deepen the inequities that mission-driven groups are working to undo.

Our mission is to make ethical, human-centered AI accessible to the organizations that need it most and can often afford it least. Too much of the current AI conversation is shaped by enterprise budgets, technical jargon, and one-size-fits-all tools. We translate. We listen first. And we help organizations make decisions about AI that align with their values, their capacity, and the people they serve.

What we do

We offer four core services:

• AI Readiness Assessments — honest, plain-language evaluations of where your organization actually is, what's possible, and what's not yet worth the investment.
• AI Strategy & Implementation — practical roadmaps grounded in your mission, your team, and your real workflows.
• Community-Centered AI Literacy — training and workshops that demystify AI for staff, boards, and the communities you serve, so adoption is participatory rather than top-down.
• Ethical AI Consultation — guidance on the questions that matter: bias, data sovereignty, labor impact, environmental cost, and whether a given AI tool actually belongs in your work.

Who we serve

We work primarily with nonprofits, community-based organizations, small businesses, and mission-driven teams, particularly those rooted in social justice, environmental justice, education, public health, and frontline advocacy. Many of our clients have been told AI is either a magic fix or an existential threat. We meet them in the more honest middle, where AI is a set of tools that require thoughtful choices.
