Pure+Applied

Pure+Applied is a multidisciplinary design studio whose mission is to create spaces—physical and virtual—that invite people to linger and learn. The studio’s areas of expertise include graphic design, branding and identity, master planning and strategy, exhibition design, and content development.

Pure+Applied has made its primary work “projects for the public good,” or projects that enrich communities and provide lasting civic benefits. In part because Barbour and Carlos were beneficiaries of the free education offered by The Cooper Union, they are particularly committed to amplifying the contributions of historic institutions that continue to present remarkable services.
