    The Position:

    We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and strategic Director of Partner Operations to serve as a trusted advisor to the Managing Principal and to provide operational support—managing day-to-day priorities, coordinating internal and external engagements, and ensuring strategic alignment—across the organization. Reporting to the Managing Principal, the Director of Partner Operations will facilitate clear communication and develop systems and procedures to maximize efficiency and promote accountability. They will serve as a support to the Managing Principal and Partners, steward relationships with key stakeholders and clients, and play a critical role in helping to establish consistency in organizational culture and operations.

    The ideal candidate will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. They must have the demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information and act as a liaison between the Partners and other constituencies, ideally having familiarity with New York City and New York State agencies, and experience working with elected and appointed officials. They must exhibit the skills to achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to manage within all levels of the organization.

    Specific Responsibilities include:

    • Manage and optimize calendars, travel, and meeting schedules.
    • Act as a liaison between the Managing Principal and Partners, internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Attend key meetings and events, both locally and during travel, providing real-time support and follow-ups.
    • Take notes in meetings, coordinate and expedite follow-up on meeting objectives.
    • Facilitate internal communication and lead staff meetings on behalf of the Managing Principal and Partners when needed.
    • Monitor and advance strategic priorities, ensuring initiatives stay on track.
    • Prepare briefs, summaries, and documents in advance of meetings.
    • Learn the business operations and culture deeply to represent BFC Partners’ interests effectively.
    • Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence and create systems and effective processes to improve communication and coordination.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
    • 10+ years in a high-level support, operations, or strategy role (e.g. EA, Business Manager, Consultant, or Operations Lead)
    • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
    • Discretion, maturity, and a high level of trustworthiness
    • Proactive problem-solving abilities and excellent judgment
    • Collaborative working style with demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to balance project and administrative concerns and perspectives and remain solution-oriented
    • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present BFC Partners in a compelling and effective manner to clients and stakeholders
    • Commitment to communicating goals, deadlines, and new developments in an open, engaged, timely, and responsive manner
    • A high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to interact effectively with the Managing Principal, Partners, and staff
    • Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, as well as an interest in community/neighborhood development
    • Real Estate and/or Affordable Housing experience a plus
    • Experience with NYS/NYC government agencies a plus
