At a defining moment in its 40-year history, Christ House invites a transformational leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. The incoming CEO will steward a uniquely sacred model of care, lead an exceptionally mission-aligned team, and guide the organization through a genuine institutional inflection point as it builds its identity for the next generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and steward a nationally recognized model of compassionate medical respite care, the largest of its kind in Washington, DC, with more than 10,000 patient admissions since its inception.
• Serve as an organizational architect at a genuine inflection point, helping Christ House define and deepen its identity as a post-founder institution while honoring the legacy of its founding community.
• Lead a deeply mission-aligned staff and intentional residential community, where the CEO is both an organizational leader and a visible values steward.
• Partner with a board actively strengthening its governance capacity, presenting an opportunity to build a high-functioning board and CEO relationship from day one.
• Build and expand a diversified revenue base, strengthening individual and foundation donor relationships while developing strategies to reduce dependence on federal government funding.

Ideal Candidate

• Substantive nonprofit (501(c)3 experience) leadership experience (CEO, ED, or senior executive)
• Personal mission alignment with Christ House values: hospitality, healing, community, and hope
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, dignity, and social justice
• Financial management and budget oversight including government grants
• Board relations and governance partnership skills
• High emotional intelligence, humility, and deep commitment to direct service
