    Earthjustice’s Legal Operations (“Legal Ops”) team oversees the functioning of legal technology and administrative systems that support Earthjustice’s various departments and legal programs, including partnering with General Counsel on risk management initiatives. Legal Ops is seeking a part-time Conflicts Analyst to support the team for 12 months while short-term projects are completed and a team member goes on leave in spring 2026.

    Under the guidance and supervision of the Sr. Director of Legal Operations & Innovation, the Conflicts Analyst will work on the review of new matters and hires to identify and facilitate the resolution of potential conflicts in accordance with General Counsel policy. The successful candidate will also support the administering of Legal Ops’ technical systems. For example, the Conflicts Analyst will process conflict of interest searches for new legal matters and staff; draft conflict of interest waiver letters; conduct quality assurance to facilitate accurate conflict search results and reporting; set up new staff in the Intapp platform; and partner with systems’ customer support to troubleshoot end users’ technical issues.

    This is a part-time (20 hours/week) role that may be done fully remotely or on a hybrid schedule from one of Earthjustice’s offices. The successful candidate is to start ASAP and work for 12 months.

    Responsibilities:

    Conflicts & Ethics Compliance Support (80%)

    • Review Intapp requests and use independent judgment in determining any incorrect or missing information; implement corrective measures where required.
    • Independently perform conflicts check searches for new matters, contacts, and new potential hires in Intapp.
    • Independently coordinate new hire conflicts check workflows using Monday.com and Intapp.
    • Perform web-based research relating to individuals/organizations.
    • Analyze and summarize conflict reports and escalate ethical conflicts and unresolved issues.
    • Coordinate with General Counsel attorneys and Program attorneys to ensure resolution of identified potential conflicts.
    • Document processes and keep records of conversations with attorneys and resolutions.
    • Capture institutional knowledge discovered during conflict resolution.
    • Support ongoing conflicts and ethics compliance work: manage ethical screens in Intapp Walls and coordinate notifications and reminders.

    Administration of Intapp New Business Intake & Risk Platforms (20%)

    • Liaise with Intapp users and other administrators to ensure data integrity and to maximize the uses and benefits of the system.
    • Independently conduct quality checks on matters; use independent judgment in determining where errors exist and investigate appropriate sources of information needed to identify and implement corrective measures.
    • Assist with data clean-up projects and responses to complex client and matter information requests from a variety of internal customers.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years conflicts experience or related within a law firm, legal environment or conflicts department preferred.
    • Proficiency in Intapp NBI and Risk or similar platforms preferred.
    • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.
    • General knowledge of rules of professional conduct concerning conflicts of interest.
    • Ability and desire to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
    • Values compliance, ethics, and maintenance of information integrity.
    • Ability to work independently as well as with a remote team.
    • Excellent attention to detail, strong proofreading skills and ability to spot and fix errors.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work amicably with various departments and regional offices, while accomplishing goals and meeting deadlines.
    • High quality work standards and ethics.
    • Effective multi-tasking skills as well as an ability to quickly analyze problems, resolve them and prioritize tasks and projects.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Critical thinking and analytical skills.
    • High level of discretion in handling confidential information.

    Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by experience level and working location. The hourly pay ranges for this role are:

    • New York, NY and San Francisco, CA: $44.10 - $48.97 per hour
    • Chicago, IL; Honolulu, HI; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, D.C.: $41.90 - $46.56 per hour
    • Anchorage & Junea, AK; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA: $39.69 - $44.10 per hour
    • Bozeman, MT; Houston, TX; and Miami & Tallahassee, FL: $37.49 - $41.64 per hour
    • Remote (US): varies by location
