    In addition to a talented cadre of environmental lawyers and legislative advocates, Earthjustice has an amazing Communications department that works in partnership with every other department at the organization. The Marketing Associate position is responsible for working in the Marketing team to aid the growth of Earthjustice’s Paid Media Program, as well as providing support across an array of marketing areas, including sponsorships, influencer engagement, and creative development.

    The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Manager. Preference will be given to candidates based in the San Francisco, CA or Los Angeles, CA metropolitan areas, with consideration also given to those based in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid role, with in-office attendance expected 1-2 days a week.

    Responsibilities:

    Paid Media and Influencer Program Support (50%)

    • Assist in the planning and execution of paid media campaigns that drive revenue and advocacy goals.
    • Project manage campaign launches across digital, fundraising, and creative teams as well as subject matter experts. Ensure campaigns meet objectives and are launched on time in partnership with our agency.
    • Collaborate with Senior Manager of Influencer Marketing to optimize paid influencer campaigns to deliver against campaign goals. Work with various agencies to ensure influencer campaigns are launched on time, monitor effectiveness, and capture learnings for future improvement.
    • Work with agency staff and internal teams to manage the technical set up of new advertising platforms, ensuring all data and privacy policies are adhered to.

    General Marketing (40%)

    • Collect, analyze, and report on market data, including competitor activities, donor insights, and market trends, leveraging both internal systems and desk research. Capture action-able learnings that other teams may want to adopt.
    • Support departmental communication campaigns to ensure aligned messaging across teams, and coordinate planning and message testing across creative, social media, and fundraising teams.
    • Explore and research incremental opportunities with vendors at the direction of the Marketing team, including brand stewardship, sponsorships, and cause marketing. Work with the Marketing Manager to cultivate key relationships among a diverse group of publications and partners.
    • Track the impact of our PSA program and support the rollout of new radio and television placements.
    • Manage inventory of the Earthjustice store as a brand-building outlet.
    • Support other strategic brand building projects as needed.

    Continued Personal Learning (10%)

    • Participate in organization-wide initiatives and trainings.
    • Utilize internal and external resources to support a personal and professional development.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or relevant work experience.
    • 2-3 years of experience in marketing (agency and nonprofit experience preferred) with advertising experience a plus.
    • Experience with Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics 4, and data analysis from advertising platforms, and familiarity with advertising metrics, data, insights, and reporting.
    • Experience in advocacy, political, or issue campaigns.
    • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative environment while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects without sacrificing attention to detail.

    Compensation:

    We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. We also offer a casual and congenial work environment. Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by experience level and working location.

    • Salary range in San Francisco, CA: $77,900 - $86,600
    • Salary range in Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA: $74,100 - $82,300
