    About Amyloidosis Research Consortium

The Amyloidosis Research Consortium (ARC) is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015, harnessing the power of collaboration and innovation to advance science and both improve and extend the lives of those with Amyloidosis. We are dedicated to transforming the way research is being done and focus on what will have the most significant impact on improving the lives of amyloidosis patients. We forge collaborations across industry, research, clinical care, and regulatory to address unmet needs and accelerate the discovery of new treatments. ARC empowers and supports patients by ensuring they have access to the best quality care and information. ARC now has a staff of 14 professionals, and a $4.5M budget.

Amyloidosis is a group of diseases where abnormal proteins build up in organs, causing progressive damage. In the U.S., approximately 3,800 new AL amyloidosis cases are diagnosed annually. However, ATTR amyloidosis affects far more people: over 100,000 Americans have the age-related form, and 50,000 people worldwide have the inherited form. Studies show that roughly 13% of older heart failure patients actually have undiagnosed ATTR amyloidosis, meaning the true patient population is even larger. As awareness and diagnosis improve, the community continues to grow.

    About the Position

The Development Manager plays a key role in advancing ARC’s annual giving program by building meaningful relationships with individual donors, growing donor engagement, and strengthening the pipeline for future major gifts. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role focuses on cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting annual donors while identifying individuals with major gift potential and partnering with the Director of Development to transition those relationships when appropriate.

This position supports the full fundraising lifecycle, including donor communications, campaign execution, donor stewardship, prospect research, grant tracking, and fundraising operations. The Development Manager also maintains accurate donor data and leverages Salesforce (ARC’s CRM) and other development systems to support effective fundraising strategies, reporting, and workflow management.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-oriented fundraiser who enjoys engaging with donors while bringing strong organizational and project management skills to a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Success in this role is measured by the ability to build lasting donor relationships, grow annual giving, and support an efficient and scalable development program.

    Responsibilities

    Constituent Relationships & Management (40%)

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for donor and constituent inquiries across email, web, and phone, building strong relationships through responsive, professional, and relationship-focused communication.
    • Build and cultivate meaningful relationships with annual donors and prospective supporters through personalized outreach, stewardship, and ongoing engagement, while helping grow ARC's annual giving program and long-term donor pipeline.
    • Oversee donor gift processing and donor acknowledgement activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity within Salesforce, our CRM system.
    • Prepare pipeline and portfolio reports, develop briefing materials for donor meetings, and provide analysis on donor engagement trends and giving patterns.
    • Identify donors with major gift potential and partner with the Director of Development to transition those relationships for personalized cultivation and solicitation.
    • Conduct prospect research on individual, foundation, and corporate donors to support donor cultivation and fundraising strategies.
    • Track restricted gifts, maintain accurate fundraising revenue data, and monitor progress toward fundraising goals.
    • Partner with program teams to transition participants into development pipelines and identify opportunities for deeper engagement.

Campaign, Events & Marketing Execution (30%)

    • Own the end-to-end operational execution of mid-year and annual fundraising campaigns, including timelines, dependencies, communications, quality control, and ensure campaigns run smoothly from setup through completion.
    • Develop and execute donor segmentation, list pulls, and targeted outreach for direct mail and digital campaigns to support revenue, engagement, and donor conversion goals.
    • Coordinate donor cultivation events and small gatherings, including logistics, invitations, and RSVP tracking.
    • Prepare event-related donor briefings for leadership and track post-event follow-up actions to strengthen donor relationships.
    • Travel approximately 15–20% for donor events, meetings, conferences, and other ARC-related activities as needed.

Salesforce & Data Systems Management (20%)

    • Serve as the internal owner of Salesforce, maintaining accurate donor data and supporting fundraising operations through effective system administration, reporting, and workflow management.
    • Maintain data quality through routine data management activities, including imports, deduplication, and record maintenance.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to continuously improve Salesforce and related fundraising systems in support of organizational goals.
    • Manage and reconcile donor data from multiple sources, including events, online platforms, and external systems.
    • Design and maintain dashboards and custom reports to track fundraising KPIs, donor engagement trends, and giving patterns, providing actionable insights to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.

    Grants & Partnerships Support (10%)

    • Work with the Director of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships to manage industry grant submissions, including portal management, document uploads, deadline tracking, and overall submission logistics.
    • Monitor submission progress, Salesforce grant tracking, deadlines, and reporting requirements for industry and foundation grants.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, advancement, nonprofit management, or a related field, preferably with a health-related or specifically named disease setting.
    • Track record of engaging directly with donors and constituents through one-to-one communication, with a professional, responsive, and relationship-focused approach.
