    Blackbird is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our small and mighty team. This role is an opportunity to do meaningful work, serving clients you can feel good about. Our clients range from nonprofits of all sizes, fellow B Corps, and folks generally doing good things in the world – the common thread is they are all mission driven organizations with great people.

    In this role you will oversee the implementation and ongoing management of employee benefit programs, provide top-notch client service, and develop meaningful ongoing relationships with both our client leadership teams, and their valuable employees.

    Your work will have a direct impact on the humans we serve and will drive the overall mission of Blackbird break the mold of cookie-cutter service and automation so rampant in our industry.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their employee benefits needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Oversee the implementation and administration of employee benefits programs.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for client inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution.
    • Collaborate with the internal team to manage client relationships to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of services to clients.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and communicate changes to clients as needed.
    • Research and advocacy for healthcare rights on behalf of marginalized communities.
    • CRM & Client Resource Management (Zywave, AgencyBloc, Employee Navigator).

    Key Experience Desired

    • Minimum 5 Years Experience in the Employee Benefits field (insurance/broker side).
    • Previous experience handling small, mid, and large-sized accounts from A-Z.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple, simultaneous tasks.
    • Ability to take complicated insurance lingo and concepts and distill it into plain language for the average human consumer.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Exceptional skill formatting documents to create visually appealing documents that align with Blackbird’s aesthetic.
    • Competence in the remote work environment – proficient using digital tools such as Zoom, Google Teams, Slack, Google Drives, SharePoint, DocuSign, Adobe Sign.
    • Active L&H (Life and Health) insurance license.
    • Fluency in Spanish.

    • Excellent Communication Skills – A strong writer with the flexibility to write for many different voices and adjust both written, and verbal, communication styles to deliver a clear and thoughtful message to diverse audiences.
    • Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, diverse communities, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and other marginalized communities who face vast inequality within our healthcare systems.

    Salary & Benefits: Salary range is $80-95,000, depending on experience, and includes a generous benefits package, PTO and 401(k).

    Paid Time Off
