Dignity Hospice of Colorado
Misión
Acerca de
Hospice is a special type of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. Hospice staff and volunteers provide specialized knowledge and expertise in hospice-related conditions, including pain management. The aim of hospice is to improve the quality of life in the patient’s final days by offering dignity, comfort, and support. Hospice care allows for the natural progression of the disease process, and it neither prolongs life nor hastens death.
At Dignity Hospice of Colorado, hospice care is provided by our interdisciplinary team of specially trained professionals, and volunteers. Hospice addresses all symptoms of a disease, with a special focus on controlling the patient’s pain and discomfort. Hospice also deals with the social, emotional, and spiritual effects of the terminal condition on the patient and the patient’s family and friends. This includes offering a variety of bereavement and counseling services to families both before and after a patient’s passing.
Our Volunteers are thoroughly trained in order that they can feel confident and be successful while providing care in various settings. CPR certification (paid by Dignity), reliable transportation, access to a computer, annual flu shot (also provided by Dignity) are required.
