Cornerstone Hospice Care

Hospice is not a place, a building, or an institution; but a collection of ideas and attitudes directing the care of the terminally ill and providing support to their families. Our team members consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, certified nurse aides and volunteers provide the hospice experience.

Hospice care affirms life and although a patient may have a terminal illness, they are still living and have a right to the best quality of life possible. Because of this philosophy, a plan of care is created to provide relief from pain and other symptoms with the emphasis on providing comfort and improving the quality of life, not curing the disease.

Hospice recognizes that grief is a normal response to loss and support for those grieving continues after the patient has passed.

Hospice care is given to all, without bias and with respect for each person’s choices, their traditions and their religious beliefs.

Hospice care is holistic and understands the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of a person are important and treated with care according to each patient’s needs.
