Birthwise Midwifery School

Birthwise Midwifery School is an accredited institution that offers a 3-year residential and low-residence midwifery program educating Direct-Entry midwives through the Certified Professional Midwife designation. We were founded in 1994 by our exiting ED, Heidi Fillmore. Heidi is the sole owner of the school and is now in the transitioning phases to a non-profit. She is donating mostly all the assets to the school so that it can continue its mission of training midwives who are capable and culturally competent to serve all birthing people whom choose an out of hospital birth experience. The shareholder distributions issued from the school have been directly to the IRS to cover Heidi's portion of taxes generated by the school's income. All other income is re-invested into the school, particular in the expansion of our staff to accommodate higher enrollment numbers.
