St. Lawrence County Public Defender

The St. Lawrence County Public Defender’s Office has seven attorneys who provide both Family and Criminal Court representation to qualifying individuals. Our office also includes four support staff, including two typists and two legal secretaries. St. Lawrence County is located in Northern New York on the US/Canadian border. The Public Defender’s Office is located in Canton, New York, the county seat of St. Lawrence County. Canton is also the home to St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton and is in close proximity to Potsdam, NY, the home of Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam. Montreal, Ottawa, Burlington, VT and Lake Placid, NY are all accessible from Canton. The area has a highly affordable cost of living.
