Kent Parks , Recreation and Community Services Mission: Dedicated to Enriching Lives Vision: Creating a Better Community We are committed to providing safe and inviting parks and facilities. We offer meaningful and inclusive recreational, cultural and human service programs. We are responsive, encouraging and ethical in our dedication to the community by providing: Personal Benefits that strengthen self esteem, improve health and promote self sufficiency Social Benefits that bring families together and unite people within our diverse community Economic Benefits that welcome new business relocation and expansion, leading to a more productive work force and increased tourism opportunities Environmental Benefits that protect and preserve natural and open space areas and enhance air and water quality.
Acerca de
Kent Parks, Recreation & Community Services was established in 1956 and became a full-time department in 1959. In 1995, our Adopt-A-Park Program was created to encourage community partnerships in the care and maintenance of Kent 's parks, trails and open spaces. In 2006, over 1,000 volunteers of all ages and abilities contributed more than 3,000 hours working together on park projects - and they had a lot of fun doing it! Those numbers have increased in 2007 to over 1,700 volunteers and more than 5,000 volunteer hours. We are so grateful for this community support.
