Guardian Review Program

  • Acerca de

The Guardian Review Program (GRP) was established to assist the Probate Court, Superior Court of Arizona, Maricopa County with ensuring that vulnerable adults under guardianship are protected. The objectives of the GRP Program include reducing the potential for the abuse of vulnerable elderly and disabled wards, educating fiduciaries about their responsibilities as guardians and conservators, and increasing the community's awareness of the guardianship system and the problems faced by incapacitated persons.

GRP Volunteers (Court Visitors) are objective observers who serve as the "eyes and ears" of the court. GRP Court Visitors are trained and supervised by court staff, but they work independently to visit wards, evaluate care, review court and medical files, and file reports with the court about their findings.

GRP Volunteers must pass a background check, provide their own transportation, be at least 18 years old, and possess good oral and written communication skills.

Training, supervision, and mileage reimbursement provided.
